I’ve recently been testing several pairs of business-oriented headsets, primarily Anker’s PowerConf H500 and Jabra’s Evolve2 75. I don’t spend all day on calls so I feel I’m perhaps not the best person to judge headsets like these, but after a few weeks of sporadic testing I’ve come to the conclusion that for me, personally, Anker’s $120 headset offers everything I need, while Jabra’s much higher end - and much more expensive at $384 - headset is too much for me.
Now don’t get me wrong, the Evolve2 75 is a better headset than this. It would almost have to be at that price, but for most regular folk who spend a few hours a day on calls I think this should be more than enough. It connects easily, either directly via Bluetooth or wirelessly with the included dongle, and after a few dozen calls I’ve yet to have any noticeable quality issues. My voice is heard loud and clear, and while I think Jabra’s advanced ANC is superior to Anker’s VoiceShield technology I think Anker does just fine.
The only slight disappointment is that the fancier features available with the PowerConf, including transcription, can only be used when connected through the dongle. I don’t like to use it as I like to switch between phone, iPad and and desktop, plus I only have one working USB port free right now and I don’t want to block it. That’s something I can live with, though. I prefer the convenience of Bluetooth, so I’ll take me lumps.
All in all this is a five star headset at this entry level price.
